Senior Physiotherapist / Pelvic Health Specialist

Meet Catherine

Catherine is a Senior Physiotherapist with over 16 years of clinical experience across the NHS and private practice. After graduating from the University of Cumbria with a First Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy, she developed extensive experience across paediatrics, community rehabilitation and, for the past eight years, pelvic health physiotherapy.

Catherine specialises in pelvic health and women’s health physiotherapy, helping women recover confidence and return to the activities they enjoy following pregnancy, childbirth and pelvic floor problems. She regularly works with women experiencing pelvic organ prolapse, bladder and bowel dysfunction, pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pain and postnatal recovery, providing evidence-based assessment, treatment and rehabilitation tailored to each individual’s goals.

She is passionate about helping new mums return safely to exercise, whether that means getting back to walking, running, the gym or simply feeling stronger and more comfortable in everyday life. Catherine understands that pelvic health concerns can be difficult to talk about and prides herself on creating a supportive, relaxed environment where patients feel listened to and understood.

Alongside her clinic work, Catherine has many years of experience delivering hydrotherapy at Sandgate Hydrotherapy Pool, using water-based rehabilitation to help people with a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions improve movement, strength and confidence.

Catherine has completed extensive postgraduate training through the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP), including specialist courses in obstetric musculoskeletal physiotherapy, bladder and bowel dysfunction, and the assessment and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse.

If you are pregnant, recovering after childbirth, experiencing pelvic floor symptoms, bladder or bowel concerns, pelvic organ prolapse, or would like expert guidance returning to exercise after having a baby, Catherine would be an excellent choice.

Outside of work, Catherine enjoys spending time with her young son and making the most of the outdoors with walks in nature.
