Meet Beth
Beth is an HCPC-registered physiotherapist who joined Kendal Physio after graduating from the University of Cumbria with a First-Class Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Prior to this, she completed a degree in Coaching and Sports Performance, which included working with Salford City Reds as part of her final-year project.
Although relatively new to physiotherapy, Beth brings over 20 years of experience in coaching, movement, strength and conditioning. Before retraining as a physiotherapist, she owned her own gym and worked extensively as a coach and personal trainer, helping everyone from people wanting to feel stronger and move better through to competitive and elite athletes.
Beth treats a wide range of musculoskeletal and sports injuries and has a particular interest in exercise-based rehabilitation. Her extensive coaching background gives her a strong understanding of how to select the right exercises and progressively build strength, mobility and confidence as patients recover.
She is also qualified in Sports Massage and, where appropriate, combines hands-on treatment with exercise, education and personalised rehabilitation. Beth considers the wider factors that can influence recovery, including training load, sleep, nutrition and lifestyle, rather than simply focusing on the injured area.
If you have a sports or exercise-related injury, want to return to the gym or strength training, or are looking for structured rehabilitation to help you become stronger and more confident following injury, Beth would be an excellent choice.
Outside of the clinic, Beth is a Lake District local with a lifelong passion for sport and physical performance. She has represented Great Britain in Judo, CrossFit and HYROX, giving her first-hand experience of high-level training, competition and the physical demands of sport.
Beth’s aim is simple: to help you understand your body, build confidence in what it can do and get you back to doing the things you enjoy.
Her background in coaching, strength and movement gives Beth a strong understanding of how to select the right exercises and apply the appropriate load, frequency and progression at each stage of rehabilitation. Her approach focuses on developing strength, balance, mobility and confidence, while also recognising the important role that factors such as sleep, nutrition, education and lifestyle can play in recovery.
Beth believes rehabilitation should be individual to the person rather than simply treating an injury. Whether your goal is to move more comfortably, get back to the gym, return to your favourite sport or perform at a higher level, she will work with you to create a realistic and personalised plan to help you get there.
Outside of the clinic, Beth is a local lass who has always had a passion for sport and physical performance. She has represented Great Britain in Judo, CrossFit and HYROX, giving her first-hand experience of training, competition and the demands that sport places on the body.
Her progression from coaching and personal training into physiotherapy has brought together years of experience in movement, performance and rehabilitation. Beth’s aim is simple: to help you understand your body, build confidence in what it can do and get you back to doing the things you enjoy.
