Alison Williams MCSP HCPC

Physiotherapist / Pelvic Health Specialist / Pilates Instructor

Meet Alison

Alison is one of our Senior Physiotherapists with a particular expertise in pelvic health physiotherapy, running-related injuries and helping people return to an active lifestyle.

Her background combines a degree in Sports Science from Bangor University with a second degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Central Lancashire, giving her a strong understanding of both rehabilitation and performance. She has continued to develop her clinical expertise through postgraduate training in pelvic health and Pilates.

Alison treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, including back pain, neck pain, joint injuries, tendon problems and sports injuries. She has a particular interest in helping runners overcome injury, return to training safely and improve their long-term resilience.

Alongside her musculoskeletal work, Alison specialises in pelvic health physiotherapy, supporting women through pregnancy and the postnatal period, as well as treating pelvic floor dysfunction, pregnancy-related musculoskeletal pain and helping women return confidently to exercise after having a baby.

As a qualified Pilates instructor, Alison also teaches physiotherapist-led Pilates classes, including beginner, intermediate, antenatal and postnatal sessions. She enjoys using exercise alongside hands-on treatment, education and personalised rehabilitation programmes to help patients achieve lasting results.

If you are experiencing pelvic health concerns, are pregnant or recovering after childbirth, have a running-related injury, or are looking for an experienced physiotherapist to help you return to the activities you enjoy, Alison would be an excellent choice.

Outside of the clinic, Alison loves making the most of the Lake District and can often be found fell running, climbing, ski mountaineering, cycling, canoeing or paddleboarding. Her passion for the outdoors gives her a real appreciation of the physical demands many of her patients place on their bodies and the importance of getting them back to doing what they love.
