Meet Abdellah
Abdellah is a HCPC-registered Podiatrist with particular expertise in musculoskeletal and sports podiatry, biomechanics and the assessment and treatment of foot, ankle and lower-limb problems.
Originally trained at the University of Málaga in Spain, Abdellah has completed Master’s-level postgraduate training in both Advanced Clinical Podiatry and Sports Podiatry. He has worked in private practice in Spain and the UK and currently also works within the NHS, giving him experience managing a wide range of conditions, from sports injuries to more complex foot problems.
A key part of Abdellah’s role at Kendal Physio is providing specialist assessment of foot and ankle pain. Alongside a detailed clinical and biomechanical assessment, he is able to use diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound where appropriate to examine structures such as tendons, ligaments, joints and soft tissues and help establish a clearer diagnosis.
For selected conditions, Abdellah can also provide ultrasound-guided injection therapy, using real-time ultrasound imaging to accurately guide the injection to the intended area as part of an appropriate treatment and rehabilitation plan.
Abdellah enjoys helping active people of all levels, from walkers and gym users to runners and competitive athletes. Rather than simply focusing on where it hurts, he considers how movement, biomechanics, footwear, training load and activity levels may be contributing to the problem. Treatment may include personalised rehabilitation, footwear advice, load management, orthoses and, where clinically appropriate, injection therapy.
Alongside his musculoskeletal work, Abdellah provides general podiatry for problems including painful or ingrown toenails, corns and calluses. He also has experience in nail surgery and treatments for persistent verrucae.
His approach is thorough, evidence-based and centred around the individual. Abdellah takes time to listen, explain what may be causing the problem and develop a treatment plan that fits each patient’s lifestyle and goals.
