Mary qualified as a Physiotherapist from University of Cumbria with a 1st class honours in 2008 building on her earlier career as an Exercise Therapist with the Firefighter’s Charity. She was then fortunate enough to secure her first Physiotherapy role back with the Fire Fighter’s Charity and subsequently progressed into a senior post as a musculoskeletal and rehab specialist.
In 2009, she completed her MSc Rehabilitation Studies through Lancaster University and was awarded a distinction for her applied research into the Measurement of Rehabilitation and Treatment Outcomes in patients with longstanding back pain.
In 2014, Mary made the transition into private practice and has remained committed to increasing her knowledge and clinical skills as well as qualifying as a Pilates Teacher and a Powerlifting Coach.
She specialises in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injuries where her primary focus is always to do her best for her patients, and to promote clinical excellence through shared decision making and collaborative care.
As a former competitive Powerlifter, she has a particular interest in strength training and in her spare time, Mary also enjoys running, mountain biking, music and photography.
Mary joined us in 2025 and is looking forward to developing her knowledge and skills further with a special interest in musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound.
