Kerry qualified from the Manchester School of Physiotherapy in 2001.

Her first post was within St Helens and Knowsley NHS trust, where she completed a series of rotations including Respiratory care, Orthopaedics, Burns and Plastics and Musculoskeletal Outpatients.

Following this position she has worked in a variety of Occupational Health settings including BAE Systems at Barrow, and the McVities factory in Carlisle, and also a number of private physiotherapy clinics in the South Lakeland area.

Kerry was selected as a volunteer physiotherapist for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The experience gave her great insight into dealing with elite athletes who were training and competing, meaning treatment had to take into account the mental and emotional as well as the physical aspects of any injury. She also volunteered at the 2015 London Marathon, another great experience.

Kerry feels that treatment should be a two-way commitment, between the physiotherapist and patient. During the assessment and treatment we can look at identifying the potential cause of the problem, incorporate modalities and techniques to assist with pain-relief and advise on how to improve movement and function. However, equally, if not more important is taking on board any advice or exercises which are advised by the physiotherapist to complement your recovery. Whether it is making changes to your posture, your running or cycling technique or a specific exercise plan, your input is essential too!

Post graduate experience and training includes Kinesio taping, acupuncture, MSK imaging, the art of Running, Bike-fitting, Fully Certified APPI Pilates Instructor, Reformer on the Mat, HIP Pilates, Therapeutic Yoga, Leadership in Running Fitness UK Athletics. Kerry also screens and treats runners as part of our RunFit service based at the KRUFC mint bridge ground in Kendal.

Training for 2020 includes Yin Yoga, Reformer Pilates and a Masters Module in Leadership in Allied Health Professionals

In her spare time Kerry loves to be moving, either outdoors exploring our beautiful Lake District on foot, bike or paddle-board, or indoors enjoying Yoga, Pilates and strength training sessions either solo or with some of the other fabulous exercise professionals in our local area.
